The effect of blue light on sleep

Harvard Medical School has written an article about "Blue Light" and the effect it has on your sleep and your body.  When we talk about blue light we mean that which is emitted by electronics, energy saving bulbs and LEDs.  But are these discussions purely about the effect on your body or is it effecting your everyday sleep?

Blue light has a dark side Here is the link to the Harvard article

Tea, Coffee, Energy Drinks - The effect on your body and your sleep

Everyone likes to drink one or the other right? If your struggling to sleep then looking at your caffeine consumption can be an obvious answer.  So What is considered too much?

Generally speaking, a full grown adult can consume up to a maximum of 300mg a day, before it starts to get a bit weird, some people may have much much lower tolerances too.   A can of Red Bull contains 80mg, a coffee can vary but is around 50 and tea is similar, around 50.  This all depends on your brand and your brewing process.  Does this mean you can drink 6 coffees a day and not realise the effects? hell no.

Caffeine stimulates the nervous system, it reduces fatigue and improves concentration. This makes it difficult to stop drinking, once you start.  The caffeine lift becomes the "norm" and you drink more and more to keep up the norm.

Caffeine can cause:  Nervousness, Sleep problems, Insomnia, Irritability, Anxiety, Stomach issues, muscle pains and more.

Our Advice: Stick to Decaf for more than half of your daily brews, you'll be cutting down without even realising it.
